This ThinkSheet displays the IDE Corp. Design Process as a system. In STE(A)M programs, the S stands for "science," of which the cornerstone is the scientific method. The scientific method seeks to explain that which exists. The E stands for "engineering," which seeks to create what does not exist. Students benefit from a methodical design process while designing solutions to open-ended problems. IDE Corp.'s Design Process is described in a video for students.
