Gauging the Success of the LATI Classroom

The Learner-Active, Technology-Infused Classroom™ addresses a complex set of indicators for student success, including, but not limited to:

  • Increased content mastery, due to significant engagement with content aimed at developing understanding and application skills.
  • Increased ability to solve open-ended problems, due to the problem-based nature of all unit content.
  • Increased communication skills, due to the amount of time students spend speaking with one another and the teacher about content.
  • Increased executive function skills, such as managing time and attention, switching focus, planning and prioritizing, self regulation, and task initiation, due to the level of expected student responsibility and the related structures and instruction in this area.
  • Increased 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, information and media literacy, flexibility and adaptability, and leadership, due to a classroom environment that engages students as part of a learning community, each taking personal responsibility while working as a functioning member of that community, a microcosm of society.
