Reflection

Creating your Learner-Active, Technology-Infused Classroom™ means shifting your paradigm. All of us were students before we were teachers and our mental images of what teaching looks like may be fairly traditional. These preconceptions are powerful, shaping our subconscious as well as our conscious instructional instincts. You may find the process of shifting paradigms is not always comfortable. Continue to take risks and hone your implementation of this model.

Reflection is one of your most transformative tools during this process. You may elect to keep a journal, whether paper or digital, to make note of:

  • ‘aha’ moments
  • successes
  • challenges
  • questions to consider further
  • revisions to make to your materials for the next time around

If something doesn’t work the first time, stay open to the possibility that it may work fine with some minor adjustments. Return frequently to your reflective journal as well. You’ll be amazed at how far you and your students have come in a short time!
